Tech 25 awards honor prestigious selection of Indianapolis individuals critical in helping to grow community’s tech companies.

INDIANAPOLIS – August 19, 2021 – TechPoint, a central Indiana organization that grows, engineers, and activates tech ecosystems, selected Trava software architect Josh Hurst as a Tech 25 award winner. He was among 25 individuals serving in non-executive roles selected by a panel of past winners and community leaders.

“This is a tremendous honor that speaks volumes about Josh’s professional contributions, energy and attitude, community involvement, and character, especially since it was such a competitive field,” said Joshua Hall, senior writer and events marketing manager at TechPoint. “Congratulations on employing such talent at your company.”

Trava co-founder and CTO Rob Beeler said, “It’s difficult and overwhelming enough for new technology companies to get off the ground, bring a product to market, and continue to develop their products so as to remain competitive.” He went on, “Josh is a superhero when it comes to taking an idea from inception to market and beyond. He helps companies know where to focus their energies and resources at each stage of the business, and what the respective next steps should be. All while contributing his technical expertise and proficiency.”

Josh graduated from Ball State University where he co-founded the Society for Game Design and Development. Since then, he has and continues to help entrepreneurs bring their visions to life and structure their early technical teams, while offering the perspective and experience of a startup engineer. In leadership roles, including in his role at Trava, he has established the early-stage architecture, identified and hired key technical talent, contributed to new business ideas, built SaaS teams, and lifted up local technical talent through mentorship and speaking. Josh lives in Fishers, Indiana, with his wife and two daughters.

The 2021 winners were announced publicly during a joint Tech 25 and CTO of the Year Awards breakfast event co-hosted by TechPoint and Indianapolis Business Journal. Honorees will be recognized on TechPoint Index, IBJ.com, and in a special supplement issue inside the print edition of Indianapolis Business Journal.
