Founded by a team of cybersecurity veterans in partnership with TDF Ventures, Trava simplifies holistic cyber risk management with automated vulnerability assessments, mitigation recommendations, and cyber insurance.

INDIANAPOLIS — December 8, 2020 — Trava, the automated cyber risk management and insurance platform is announcing its launch today to provide better protection for small and midsize businesses. Designed to bridge the gap between cyber risk management and cyber insurance, Trava offers a simple, integrated, and affordable solution for its customers and partners.

Trava is led by Co-Founder and Chief Executive Jim Goldman, former VP of information security at ExactTarget and VP of security governance, risk management, and compliance at Salesforce. Previously, Goldman also served as a task force officer detailed to the FBI Cyber Crime Task Force. Jim is joined by Co-Founder and CTO Rob Beeler, a seasoned engineering leader with nearly 30 years of experience leading engineering teams at Carbonite, OpenText, and Double-Take Software. Beeler was named a CTO of the Year honoree in 2018 by the Indianapolis Business Journal.

“During my career, I’ve worked with some of the largest organizations in the world, as well as young startups and small companies. Cyber risk is a growing threat to all organizations, but it can be especially crippling for small and midsize businesses,” said Goldman. “Trava’s comprehensive solution simplifies cyber risk management for the masses, resulting in better business protection at a lower cost.”

With data-driven security assessments, professional services from a virtual Chief Information Security Officer, and a built-in cyber insurance platform, Trava provides an integrated and dynamic risk-transfer mechanism its customers can trust. According to the Small Business Administration, eighty-eight percent of small business owners are afraid that their business is vulnerable to a cyber attack.

“Most small to medium-sized organizations have no idea where to begin when it comes to protecting themselves against cyber threats,” said High Alpha Managing Partner Scott Dorsey. “We are thrilled to be working with Jim and Rob, the experienced Trava team, and our partners at TDF Ventures to help businesses everywhere take control of their cybersecurity.”

“Investments in cybersecurity point solutions are at an all-time high, yet breaches aren't slowing down. We need a whole new approach with a holistic, integrated solution that can make cybersecurity accessible to everyone," said Matt Bressler, Principal at TDF Ventures. The concept for the business first originated through a partnership between High Alpha and TDF Ventures. "We have been studying and investing in the cybersecurity space for 15 years and have discovered the need for a solution in the market with his approach. We began working with the High Alpha team around this idea and are excited to be officially launching the company with such an experienced team. We think this is the perfect team to build this unified platform and fill this gap."

The company conducted a beta program earlier this year and recently released the generally available product with the ability to offer cyber insurance in all 50 states. To learn more about Trava, visit travasecurity.com.
