Meet Dan.
I am Dan Katt. I’m the VP of Sales over here at Trava.
In your words, what is your role at Trava.
I think about it as I’m responsible for overall driving the revenue strategy, and then ensuring that our customers, when we bring them on board, are wildly successful.
Describe Trava in 3 words.
For me, it’s fun, exciting, and impactful, especially from a customer engagement perspective.
Where is your happy place?
Really just anywhere on the water, whether it’s underwater scuba diving, in the water swimming, on the water boating. It doesn’t matter if it’s salt or freshwater, love being at the lake and love being at the beach.
If you could give your 13 year old self advice, what would it be?
I would say probably don’t sweat the small stuff, keep plowing ahead, and try and have fun while you’re doing it.
What is your favorite motivational quote?
So it’s probably a category of quotes, which just resiliency is maybe the category. But I like Satchel Paige’s quote about, ” You win a few, you lose a few. Some get rained out. But you got to dress for all of them.” And to me, that’s just a matter of you’re going to win some, you’re going to lose some, but you got to show up every day. And I think that is sales in a nutshell.
What has been your favorite project at Trava?
So there’s been a lot of projects that I’ve really enjoyed at Trava. I think the underlying theme for those is just building, whether it’s building new programs, new processes, or revising existing programs. To me, the underlying theme is love to build, and then implement, and then see the success of the team. So an example of that could be we just rolled out some new sales methodology at the end of’22. Team’s done a really good job of adopting and implementing as they engage with potential customers.
Cats or dogs?
Well, despite my last name, I am very much a dog person. We have two big dogs in our house, zero cats.
What’s your favorite color?
My favorite color, I think it’s a toss up between a nice salmon or periwinkle, or maybe a teal sea green color. I don’t know. I’ve got three. Can I have three favorite colors?
