Many companies know they probably could benefit from increasing their security posture but experience difficulty getting the ball rolling. This segment in our video collection continues the discussion surrounding the customer journey to achieving comprehensive cyber risk management, along with the benefits of SaaS companies utilizing digital risk management software. CEO and co-founder Jim Goldman sits with Cody Rivers, CTO at AIS, and Ben Jacobs, VP of Engineering at Encamp, to discuss the important topic of cybersecurity for MSPs and talk about their respective customer journeys.

Cyber Risk Not Just an IT Issue

Cyber risk isn’t just an IT issue, it equates to business risk. Companies are impacted as a whole, but not enough awareness currently exists at the organizational level. Cyber risk is only one component of several risks that comprise enterprise risk management. Collectively, all risks need to be looked at to improve security and better position companies to withstand them. While more awareness is needed, Jim notes there is a growing interest at the senior management level for enterprise risk management.

How Trava’s Tools Integrate with Cybersecurity for SaaS

Cody shares background about AIS, a cloud security firm in Indiana that supports firms globally in their cloud design and day-to-day management of those environments, along with their alignment to security frameworks for either internal risk mitigation or regulatory obligation. AIS works with Trava by utilizing its platform to help manage risk assessment and vulnerability assessment at a higher level.

When securing their homes, most people lock their doors and windows. However, to successfully secure houses, owners need to know the number of entry points. Securing a business is similar and is achieved by conducting a fundamental security review. Trava’s platform enables SaaS companies like AIS to see clients simultaneously, significantly streamlining the process of performing scans and generating results to create a plan of action for them.

SaaS Boosts Companies’ Position Using Risk Assessments

Businesses putting in the effort to improve their own cyber risk assessments find it’s easier to close or generate business. AIS notes that since utilizing Trava’s cyber risk survey assessments and cyber insurance products, it has experienced an uptick in business. Encamp shares since connecting with Trava, it’s now equipped with a better cyber risk posture, enabling the company to grow and focus on a different clientele, offering a parallel journey as a company.

Companies that fortify themselves to follow best practices present better authority in conversations with clients and offer them solutions for compliance issues. In a nutshell, utilizing Trava’s products ultimately helps businesses seal the deal.
